When your NT8 slows down, after months and months of intensive use, it won’t be because of your Remek! product. Try these tips and tricks to freshen up NT8:
make sure you have only 500 bars on the Precision Chart (the chart you’re running the strategy on)
keep your NT database in top shape: delete stuff you do not need (instruments, historical data, market replay stuff). A quick way to do that: rename your Documents/Ninjatrader 8/db folder to Documents/Ninjatrader 8/_db or something similar, and restart Ninja. Your NT8 will be reborn. (If there are any problems after restart, you can rename your _db back to db, to get back to where you started).
do not use "Calculate on every tick" on your charts. Use "Calculate on bar close" or, if you must, "Calculate on price change".
Also note: the first time you start Blackbird in a given NT8 session, it will take some time to load. Subsequent Blackbird loads will be much faster. This is normal, and due to the fact that Blackbird needs to load some techie stuff (.Net etc.) into Windows on its first launch.
